  • Is Aquatic Spas a reliable company? I’ve never heard of them.

Yes, Aquatic Spas is a Minnesota-designed hot tub brand created in the Twin Cities by Jerry Schiltz, a long-time spa industry professional and former dealer for established manufacturers. After years of selling and servicing well-known brands, he identified opportunities to improve real-world comfort, reliability, and serviceability — and built Aquatic Spas to address those details.
  • How do Aquatic Spas compare to other well-known national brands?

Aquatic Spas are designed to compete directly with well-known national hot tub brands in comfort, performance, and durability, but with a different design philosophy. Instead of prioritizing proprietary features or marketing-driven upgrades, Aquatic Spas focuses on real-world usability, long-term reliability, and ease of service. Many large manufacturers emphasize brand-exclusive components or complex systems that can be costly to maintain over time. Aquatic Spas takes a more practical approach by using proven components, straightforward plumbing layouts, and thoughtful seating ergonomics refined through years of dealer and service experience. The result is a spa that delivers comparable hydrotherapy and comfort to premium brands, while remaining easier to service, simpler to own, and more predictable long-term. For buyers who value performance and reliability over brand recognition alone, Aquatic Spas offers a strong alternative to larger national names.
  • Are Aquatic Spas a good spa for Minnesota Winters?

Yes. Aquatic Spas are designed in Minnesota with cold-weather performance in mind. Instead of using full-foam insulation, Aquatic Spas uses a sealed, insulated cabinet approach that helps retain heat efficiently while also making service and leak repairs more practical over the life of the spa. Aquatic Spas uses a thin layer of high-density spray foam on the back of the shell to help keep heat in the water, then adds cabinet insulation with a reflective (mylar-style) thermal barrier that reflects heat back toward the plumbing and equipment. This creates a warm air cavity that helps maintain temperature, captures waste heat from the motors while running, and keeps heat circulating inside the cabinet—ideal for Minnesota winters. Why not full foam? Full-foam designs can be more difficult and labor-intensive to repair if a leak ever develops because foam often must be removed to access plumbing. A sealed, insulated cabinet design keeps heat in while improving long-term serviceability.
  • What does service look like when buying an Aquatic Spa?

Aquatic Spas are assembled with industry-standard parts. If we don’t have a part in stock and our primary distributor doesn’t either, there are multiple additional distributors nationwide that carry the same components. CMP jets, Balboa electronics, and other non-proprietary systems are used—unlike some brands that rely on proprietary electronics.
  • Are Aquatic Spas available as a Saltwater Hot Tub?

Yes. All Aquatic Spas can be converted to operate as a saltwater hot tub using a Blu Fusion TS Salt System.
